Responsibilities
Design and review RF designs
Participation and expertise with WiMAX standards and roadmaps
Weigh site selection options
Make quick, knowledgeable decisions (understanding trade-offs)
Monitor site/cluster testing through to site/cluster acceptance
Interface directly with CME teams and RAN vendors during build, BS install, commissioning, testing and acceptance
Perform RF network planning, design and optimisation of network coverage, performance and capacity
Proposal – Evaluate vendor proposals, assist with technical contract creation and resolution
Design – Review vendor design and provide recommendation to YTL Communications
Deployment/Testing – Review test plans and provide recommendations to YTL Communications evaluate test reports against contract KPI’s and WiMAX standards
Operations – Review operational reports, provide optimisation recommendations
Job Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electronic and Communication Engineering or Equivalent
Minimum 10 years Wireless Cellular experience
Minimum 3 years direct WiMAX working experience
Knowledge in telecommunication breadth/depth is a must
Advanced understanding of RF propagation principles, cellular theory, RF engineering tools and antenna theory
Advanced understanding of GSM/UMTS/WiMAX networks and telecommunication systems
Expertise in the use of different RF Planning tools
Site Acceptance expertise
Direct experience in experience in wireless deployment, site installation/commissioning
Experience in developing and evaluating RAN/WiMAX RFI/RFP’s and vendor proposals
Current/Active participation in WiMAX Forum Standards bodies desired
Strong written and oral communication
Efficient in planning and organising work
Skills Required
Assist personnel of other departments
Provide on-the-job training to new department staff members
May require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported
