Responsibilities
Weigh site selection options
Make quick, knowledgeable decisions (understanding trade-offs)
Monitoring site/cluster testing through to site/cluster acceptance
Interface directly with CME teams and RAN vendors during build, BS install, commissioning, testing and acceptance
Conducting site surveys to meet traffic and coverage requirements
Perform RF network planning, design and optimisation of network coverage, performance and capacity
Perform drive test and optimisation
Dimensioning of the ASN network
Design – Develop skill set/WiMAX knowledge, assist with site selection
Deployment – Learn Installation, configuration process and procedures, validate vendor MOPS, manage vendor through site and cluster acceptance
Test – Perform YTL Communication drive and acceptance tests
Operations – Perform tests for on-going verification/KPI testing
Job Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electronic and Communication Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5 years Wireless Cellular experience
Direct experience in wireless deployment, site installation/commissioning
Advanced understanding of RF propagation principles, cellular theory, RF engineering tools and antenna theory
Advanced understanding of GSM/UMTS/WiMAX networks and telecommunication systems Experience in the Telecommunications industry would be an added advantage
Experienced/expertise in the use of different RF Planning tools
Site Acceptance expertise
Experience in managing technical teams
Strong written and oral communication
Efficient in planning and organising work
Skills Required
Assist personnel of other departments
Provide on-the-job training to new department staff members
May require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported
